Supporting visual documention - Select portfolio
This portfolio contains a selection of works and projects that trace the development of the 'protocol' as a core concept in my work. This concept will be developed as a subject-in-itself through my project Ritual and Taboo at TOKAS. This selection focuses on exhibitions and publications produced using research conducted during prior residencies.
Short captions beneath the works explain their relation to 'protocol'
For a broader overview of my practice and these projects, please consult the projects tabs to the left.

Life drawings
Two series of drawings, each drawn in-situ from at la Bibliotheque Litteraire Jacques Doucet from the manuscripts of Pierre Klossowski’s ‘Nietzche et le cercle vicieux’ (2018) and ‘La Monnaie vivante’ (2025). The works were produced within the frameworks of two residency programmes - the Cité de la Litterature de la Ville de Paris at le Couvent des Récollets (Paris 2018), and at La Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris 2025.
Please see below for images of the following public presentations of these drawings:
- Life Drawings, from the manuscripts of Pierre Klossowski’s ‘Nietzche et le cercle vicieux’,
presented in ‘Fronts(a)(b)(c)’, Winona, Brussels 2025
- ‘Affaires suspendues’ at la Cité internationale des Arts, Paris 2025
Presenting Life Drawings from the manuscripts of Pierre Klossowski’s ‘La monnaie vivante’
This project began during archive research in Paris, whilst consulting manuscripts housed at La Bibliothèque Litteraire Jacques Doucet. With photographic reproduction restricted and equipment constrained to pencil and paper, the visits gradually followed theses cues from exploratory reading and note taking into the application of academic drawing techniques during the archive consultation sessions.
4 framed Klossowski drawings made from the manuscript ‘Nietzsche and the vicious circle’ in 2018.
Installation view of my studio presentation ‘Affaires suspendues’ (Unfinished buisiness) at La Cité Internationale des Arts Paris in 2025
This installation uses furniture and infrastructure from the Cité des arts aspresentation support for the 16 Klossowski drawings I made from the manuscript of ‘La monnaie vivante’ (Living Currenncy) during my 2025 resiedency.

Paintings from Recreation Painting at Harlan Levey Projects in 2019
These paintings adopted concepts from my Klossowski drawings made during my 2018 residency in Paris and introduced them into paintings that sourced imagery from Decorative Arts Library archive in Paris. They focus ides of the double, repetition and recreation (leisure).
Rénovation de la Bourse - Solo exhibition at WIELS Project Room in 2021
This is the first exhibition project where i explicitly used a ‘protocol’ during the production of the paintings and the conceptual composition of the exhibition.
The exhibition contains 2 large paintings of a metro station that contain a reflection of each other in their compositions, these paintings fuse public infrstructure systems with corporeal systems (circulatory and neural).
The installation is punctuated by one-to-one scale ‘trompe l’oeil’ paintingss of work-site barriers that are found throughout the streets of Brussels.
This practice of having improvised, ‘abstract’ forms of paintings exhibited with a protocolled, pre-conceived series of realist works became an important feature of future exhibitions.
Excess / Support - An artist book project published by MER Books, Belgium in 2024
‘Excess/Support’, presents a body of 100 paintings worked through from 2019 to 2023, commencing during my residency at WIELS. From the onset, this broad network of paintings has been conceived and developed for the format of publication. The pages of this volume converge painterly experiments, the recreation and renovation of prior concepts, and prototypes for exhibitions to come - the paintings were lage made in direct response to studio visits and exchanges with fellow artists.
